The Book Blogger Hop

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly event hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books and runs from Friday to Sunday. The Hop is a fantastic way to get your blog noticed, and visit some other blogs that you didn't know about before. Head over and sign up and see what you can find!

Each week a different question will be added to the hop in order for conversations to occur, and for your followers to get to know you better. Here we go!

"What are your feelings on losing followers? Have you ever stopped following a blog?"

While I hate to see anyone unfollow, it is their choice. I mostly stick to YA fiction -with a few middle school reads every now and then. If someone prefers a different age group, they might want to leave. Perfectly understandable! I hope I never post something that would upset someone so much that they would want to unfollow. Have I ever stopped following a blog? Last week I read a review about a children's chapter book, and the reviewer was up in arms about having gay parents in the story. Her reaction (and homophobia) upset me and I will not be returning to her blog. It is her right to say how she feels, and it is my right to not listen (after I posted my not very pleasant reaction).

Follow Friday is hosted by the lovely Rachel at Parajunkee's View. Here is her question:

Who are your favorite authors?

This is a hard question. I love authors who consistently tell good stories. I have also been lucky enough to meet a lot of authors that I love to hang out with, but only have published one or two things. Regardless, my favorites are:

Lois Lowry - The Giver changed my life. I cried when I read she is coming to Texas next year.

Suzanne Collins - Uh, no brainer here folks. Meeting her was one of the highlights of my year!!

Ellen Hopkins - Amazing. She reaches an audience when others can't.

Carrie Ryan - Zombiesssss!

Kami Garcia & Margi Stohl - Great books. Great people.

J.K. Rowling - Who doesn't love someone that got millions of kids reading?!

Alice Hoffman - Everything she puts on paper sticks with me. One of the few adult FIC writers I will read.

Augusten Burroughs - Running With Scissors anyone? The other adult FIC writer I love.

Dr. Seuss - Will stand the test of time...

There are so many more that I love to read, but these came to mind easily.

I would love to hear your answers. Leave me a comment with your link and I'll find you.
