Favorite At Fifteen

Well, it's official! I. Am. Old. Today, my oldest turned 15! I honestly can't believe it. To say that "time flew by" is an understatement.... Although I am glad that the diaper days are over, I am not exactly thrilled about her being fifteen. Last night, she was looking at driving schools. Ugh, my heart can't take it! Her being fifteen literally scares the bajeezus out of me. Boys, cars, college - the whole lot! I'm just not ready for it all.

I knew this day was coming and it really hit home at The Montgomery County Teen Book Festival. She wasn't able to attend, but I was asked to get a copy of Gooney Bird Green signed by Lois Lowry. This was her favorite book growing up. She loved it so much after a librarian read it in school to her whole class. Now she has moved on to all of the great paranormal romances that teen girls stay up till the wee hours of the morning to read. Her favorite book now that she is fifteen? The Darkest Powers Trilogy by Kelley Armstrong. She loved them more than Twilight! In fact, she happily boasts that Kelley is her favorite author!

So, in order to get my mind off of being older than dirt, tell me what YOUR favorite book was when you were fifteen. Mine? Believe it or not, I didn't read a lot in high school. I was a little.....busy with other activities. BUT, I think Flowers In the Attic by V.C, Andrews was one I remember. Wow...that book still terrifies me today!

Happy Reading!
