Waiting on Wednesday - Unraveling Isobel by Eileen Cook

Unraveling Isobel by Eileen Cook
January 3rd, 2011 by Simon Pulse

Isobel’s life is falling apart. Her mom just married some guy she met on the internet only three months before, and is moving them to his sprawling, gothic mansion off the coast of nowhere. Goodbye, best friend. Goodbye, social life. Hello, icky new stepfather, crunchy granola town, and unbelievably good-looking, officially off-limits stepbrother.

But on her first night in her new home, Isobel starts to fear that it isn’t only her life that’s unraveling—her sanity might be giving way too. Because either Isobel is losing her mind, just like her artist father did before her, or she’s seeing ghosts. Either way, Isobel’s fast on her way to being the talk of the town for all the wrong reasons.

This one sounds paranormal*ish with a psychological twist. Not too sure, but I'm interested! The title and cover make me think that is just a coming of age contemporary. What do you guys think?

Lucky us, we get to read the first chapter HERE, on Eileen's website.

  1. Yeah the cover makes it look like a contemporary but the synopsis sounds like a paranormal hmm.

  2. That cover looks very intriguing as does the title. I've never heard of this one before, but I like it! Awesome pick, Jen :D

    Stop by my WoW

  3. I really love this cover. Maybe it's because I enjoy painting.

I’m a new follower—awesome blog background (it's the same one I use lol)! Stop by my blog and follow me too? :)

  4. I love this cover! I don't really like covers with people on them, but this is kind of a unique spin on it. Interesting!

  5. The vines remind me of Rage Carrie...

  6. Ditto on being intrigued! Maybe a bit of The Shining meets YA? Either way, I'll be looking forward to your review of it!
