**Spoilers if you haven't read AthU**
Remember how Across the Universe took place on a "ship of lies?" Yeah, that is still happening! Elder is now Eldest and Amy is still the only one on the ship from the original Earth. They are all sailing to Sol Earth and should be there at about half past never at the rate they're going. When Elder takes over as Eldest, he decides to let people essentially have their life back. No drugs in the water and no systematically planned Season of Schmexy times (loveeeed that part in the last book!) Without the control, the people on the ship start to get greedy, lazy, and all around dangerous. In just a short amount of time, all hell breaks loose and people end up dead. The people blame Elder and rally for a new leader, but there aren't any other choices. Or are there? (insert menacing music)

Is there anyone in this book who doesn't lie? My answer is no. That's good for us, the reader. We like the secrets, the suspense, and even the mystery behind this ship. The ship is a character all of its own and it has a doozie of a secret! I was a bit floored by it and I totally didn't guess correctly. I love an unpredictable book and this one had so many twists and turns. Even dead people show up - well, sort of. Amy and Elder work together to solve a puzzle with clues hidden all over the ship. Clues that will get them through the rest of the time on the ship. If only they knew how much time they had.

The romance was a little slower paced in this book. Amy has her head on straight and she is torn whether she likes Elder for who is he or just because he is the only one on the ship her age. I didn't mind her hesitance one bit. She spends a lot of time with her frozen parents and we begin to realize just how lonely poor Amy is. We get to see all new parts of the ship and meet new people. I get a better sense of just how huge Godspeed is.

Terrific sequel with mysteries popping up faster than Godspeed is sailing! I'm in this series for the long haul!
