The Book Blogger Hop (15)

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly event hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books and runs from Friday to Sunday.

The Hop is a fantastic way to get your blog noticed, and visit some other blogs that you didn't know about before. Head over and sign up and see what you can find!

Each week a different question will be added to the hop in order for conversations to occur, and for your followers to get to know you better. Here we go!

"What book are you most looking forward to
seeing published in 2011? Why are
you anticipating that book?"

My answer is a little convoluted. I would normally say that I am looking forward to the final installment in The Forest of Hands and Teeth trilogy - The Dark and Hollow Places, but....I've read it! The Forest of Hands and Teeth is one of my favorite series, and I was literally jumping out of my skin for a long time for the third book. Lucky me, I got an advanced copy and read it a few weeks ago. It was awesome!!! I can't wait for the rest of the world to read. Author Carrie Ryan will be making a stop to Texas, and I now I am looking forward to that.

Follow Friday is hosted by the lovely Rachel at Parajunkee's View. Here is her question:

"What was your favorite subject in school"?

Oh geez. In high school.....lunch!! For my undergraduate, anything with the word Psychology in the title. Master's in Experimental Psych....statistics! By far, I love statistics. I took about 24 hours of stats. ;) Master in Library Science...I would say my favorite class was collection development. We talked about what makes a good collection for a library and how best to serve your customer. Interesting.... I liked the lit classes, but I had to write a review every week. For some reason...I didn't like that very much. Ha...look at me now!

  1. I'm terrified of Statistics. It seems so hard.

  2. Lunch! Yes!
I love the blog title. I read way too many banned books. :)

    New follower! Happy Friday!

  3. Favourite subject in school? French. I already spoke the language, so I had it easy ;)

    Happy Friday!

  4. Hmm. I only got through the opening oages of Forest if Hands and Teeth. BUT I ALWAYS seems to love the books you recommend. I'm going to revisit that one now. I don't want to miss out on something! LOL You can see my wish list here:http://blog.juliealindsey.com/

  5. You totally made me want to read The Forest of Hands & Teeth - you realize this, don't you?! ;-) I loved lunch too. Food & socialization. Awesomesauce.

  6. Hi, sweetheart! I'm a new follower, and another lover of lunch. I'm terribly jealous that you've already read The Dark and Hollow Places! The Forest of Hands and Teeth is one of my favourite series, too. I really can't wait for the final book :) Looking forward to getting to know you better!

  7. You're title is what got me to your blog, love it! I made a banner that said the same things for Banned Book week last year. Also love the layout! I can't believe Statistics was or is a favorite of yours because I really can't imagine me ever liking it lol. Art, drama, and PE were the ones for me. Anything that wasn't a grade on my report card and just required effort haha.

Visiting over from the hop and am a new follower :).

  8. I am SO JEALOUS of your ARC of Dark and Hollow Places. That and City of Fallen Angels are the two books I want more than anything this year. :P

  9. Hi,

Thank you for stopping by my blog.
I was curious about which book syou were looking forward to.
A friend told me that the forest of hands and teeth series was amazing. And reading you like them as well got me thinking I might have to try them out aswell.

  10. I've only read The Forest of Hands and Teeth and loved it! I have to get my hands on the next book before Dark and Hollow Places comes out. Have a great weekend! :):)

  11. The book I’m most expecting in 2011 is by an author I crossed off my “Favorite author” list.

He’s back on that list now.

Who’s the author? Raymond Feist? What’s the book? A Kindgom Besieged.

Hop on over to my website to read all about it – http://www.howardsherman.net

  12. I don't think lunch is a legitimate school subject... If it was, then recess would definitely be my favorite.

    iLive, iLaugh, iLove Books

My fave subject was History. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

  14. My favorite subject in school, by far, was history!

  15. I still have to read the first Forest of Hands and Teeth book, which is good because I won't have to wait for the final book when I'm ready for it!

  16. So jealous of your ARC...

Love your blog title! I have a book bag that says the same thing. ;)

    Happy Friday!

  17. Love your blog design. I'm sure you must get that a lot!

I put together a list of books I'm looking forward to about a week ago.

I've reviewed an alarming number of picture books this week... must get caught up with my YA reviews.

  18. I did enjoy lunch in high school. I was fortunate to attend a school that usually had something decent to eat for lunch. My favorite class in high school was history. I also loved English. In my undergrad years, my favorite classes were British History From the Tudors (the reason I now am obsessed with Tudor history), and Early English Lit. While I love collection development as part of my job, my favorite class in grad school was Library Services to Young Adults. I credit that class with my love of YA fiction.

I can't wait to read The Dark and Hollow Places either. I do love that series, especially The Forest of Hands and Teeth.

Thanks for visiting my blog during the hop! Always nice to come across another librarian book blog.

  19. Hopping by to say have a great weekend!

    Already following :)

  20. Carrie Ryan is by far one of my most favourite authors. Love her!!!

  21. Hey following via the hop :]

I can't wait to read D&HP! It was also one of my picks this week. And yay someone who loves psych too! Though I'm not a big fan of the statistics though my teacher is a great guy so he makes the class a little easier.
