The Book Blogger Hop (23)

The Book Blogger Hop is a weekly event hosted by Jennifer at Crazy for Books and runs from Friday to Sunday.

The Hop is a fantastic way to get your blog noticed, and visit some other blogs that you didn't know about before. Head over and sign up and see what you can find!

Each week a different question will be added to the hop in order for conversations to occur, and for your followers to get to know you better. Here we go!

"If you could physically put yourself into
a book or series, which one and why?

I would have to say something with fantasy elements, but not too death defying. Nothing like the Mortal Instruments series. (too scary!) At the moment I would have to say Harry Potter, but I would be one of those characters that wasn't too close to H, H, & Ron. I wouldn't want to be a target for Lord Voldemort, but would still like to have some magical powers. Okay...my answer is pretty lame.

Follow Friday is hosted by the lovely Rachel at Parajunkee's View. Here is her question:

"Give us five book related silly facts about you."

1. People who dog-ear library books rank right up there with people who talk during movies. RUDE.
2. I own the original Kindle and it looks sad gathering dust. I prefer to hold a book.
3. I take a book everywhere. I read in the car, at the movies (before the show), kids games (when they aren't playing and at halftime), and at restaurants. My husband loves it! #sarcasm
4. I have a really hard time with high fantasy. I'm out at dragons. (well, not Firelight)
5. My bookmarks are usually old DC receipts.

Reminders:
Interview  & giveaway of The End of the Line Ends March 28th
Looking for some reviewers
Short reviews: Red Glove & The Year We Were Famous (coming soon)

  1. Hi there, old follower just stopping by for the hop. I also hate when people damage a public book in anyway. I always hated getting gross textbooks in school and once I was in college I always spent the extra money to get new copies for myself. Some would think it was a waste, but I did keep most of them and I did refer to them many times over the years as well. My favorites are still on my bookshelf (a literature book and a few psychology books). Anyway, I hope you're having a great start to your week and I'll ttyl! :)

  3. I love that you read in the movie theater before the show starts. That's awesome! lol I tried to use fun/fancy bookmarks but somehow they always got "misplaced" so my bookmarks end up being business cards or receipts! lol

    Happy Friday Jen!

  4. Hey Jen. Hopping by..

I'm pretty sure I mirror your facts. Well, except that I have a Nook Color not a Kindle. And my bookmark is usually a Netflix offer card or the receipt from the said book.

    Have a super weekend! :-)

  8. I read everywhere as well. I used to read during timeouts and such as my brother's football games. They were really good so the stands were full and it was so loud, but I still brought my book and enjoyed it too.

    old follower.

  9. Just swinging through on the blog hop. I enjoyed reading your answers to the #5 Things question. I had to laugh at your "dragon" comment. I have issues with that sort of thing too, but then I just read a story about a dragon and it changed my mind kinda sorta.

Anyway, I hope you have a great weekend!

  10. As a librarian I am really frustrated by people who dog-ear books, too, though I totally "get-it" why they do it...I'm often tempted myself. :)

  11. Hopping through. I take a book almost everywhere too - it's a lot easier now with electronic books.

  12. I use receipts for bookmarks too!!! I thought I was the only one, nice to know I'm not alone. No matter how many bookmarks I purchase, I always go back to receipts. Too funny!

This is my first visit to your blog and I like it! Found you on the Follow Friday hop! Nice to meet you :-)

  13. This is directed at Anne Bennett's comment:

Why would people "dog-ear" pages? If it's to mark a place for reminders to be used for reviews and such, they make special tabs for that. Just like Post-it does but for books so the tab doesn't leave a mark or tear the page. They are wonderful!
