Event: John Green and the Cast of The Fault In Our Stars

I can't tell you how much of a lucky duck I am! Last Friday my youngest (pictured below) and I made the three hour trip up to Dallas to be one of a thousand people to see the cast of The Fault In Our Stars (Ansel Elgot, Nat Wolff, and Shailene Woodley) and the author John Green. I was fortunate enough to score VIP tickets that meant I did not have to wait in line. #thankdog THE LINE WAS INSANE and I can't tell you how happy I was not to wait in the Texas sun! The crowd cheered every time a news crew came by and they had the most amazing posters and signs. It was such a site!

Wish You Were Italian by Kristin Rae
May 6th, 2014 from Bloomsbury

Pippa has always wanted to go to Italy … but not by herself. And certainly not to sit in art school the entire summer learning about dead guys’ paintings. When she steps off the plane in Rome, she realizes that traveling solo gives her the freedom to do whatever she wants. So it’s arrivederci, boring art program and ciao, hot Italian guys!

Charming, daring, and romantic, Bruno is just the Italian Pippa’s looking for—except she keeps running into cute American archeology student Darren everywhere she goes. Pippa may be determined to fall in love with an Italian guy … but the electricity she feels with Darren says her heart might have other plans. Can Pippa figure out her feelings before her parents discover she left the program and—even worse—she loses her chance at love?

Announcement: Texas Teen Book Festival 2014

The news is out! James Dashner of The Maze Runner fame is headlining the Texas Teen Book Festival! Join us October 18th, 2014 at St. Edward's University. This was a super hard secret to keep. We first met Dashner in 2010 right when The Maze Runner came out. He was a dynamic speaker and had instant fans. We can't wait to share more author lineup information and have another exciting addition this week. Stay tuned to TTBF on Facebook and Twitter, and of course the website for more information. Here is the full press release:

Young Adult genre rock star author James Dashner, creator of the wildly popular Maze Runner series, will be the headliner of the Texas Teen Book Festival Oct. 18 at St. Edward’s University.

Dashner’s latest novel is The Eye of Minds, a novel set in a world of hyper-advanced technology, cyberterrorists, and gaming. He is also the author of the 13th Reality series.

“We couldn't be more excited to announce James Dashner as our headlining author,” says Heather Schubert, librarian and founder, along with BookPeople, of what was originally called the Austin Teen Book Festival. “And we are so excited about The Maze Runner movie release in September. This year's festival is going to be the most interactive and wild yet, and we have an amazing list of all-star YA authors to prove it!” Schubert says.
